| Applicant tracking system | The software an employer uses to publish roles and receive applications. |
| Deduplication | Collapsing multiple copies of the same role into one record. |
| Syndication | The distribution of one listing across many boards through feeds and partnerships. |
| Expiry | The moment a listing stops being available at its source. |
| Freshness | How quickly a provider discovers new listings and removes dead ones. |
| Normalisation | Turning free text into consistent fields you can filter and group by. |
| Job title normalisation | Grouping titles that mean the same thing, despite being written differently. |
| Salary range | The advertised pay band, which is a decision rather than a measurement. |
| Disclosure rate | The share of postings in a group that publish any salary information. |
| Pay transparency | Rules requiring employers to publish pay information with a job advert. |
| Median | The middle value of a distribution: half above, half below. |
| Seniority level | The experience band a role sits in, from entry to executive. |
| Remote share | The proportion of advertised roles described as remote. |
| Work arrangement | Whether a role is remote, hybrid or on-site. |
| Seat | One position within a requisition. |
| Pipeline building | Advertising a role to collect candidates for a future opening. |
| Job board | A site that publishes listings, usually aggregated from many employers. |
| Recruiting agency listing | A posting published by a staffing firm rather than the employer. |
