Definition

Seniority level

The experience band a role sits in, from entry to executive.

Frequently baked into the title rather than stated as a field, and inconsistently between employers: one company's Senior is another's Mid.

Any pay figure that mixes seniority describes nobody. Splitting by level is usually the first thing worth doing to a salary distribution.
