About

We index what employers publish themselves, and we say plainly how we do it.

Every posting in the index is read from a company applicant tracking system through its public catalogue API — ten vendors, no aggregators, no social networks. Where a source restricts automated access it is simply absent, and we would rather say that than claim coverage we do not have.

Most job data is second-hand: an aggregator scrapes a board, another aggregator scrapes the aggregator, and by the time it reaches an API the listing is days old and duplicated four ways. We read company career systems directly.

What we do not do

Removal

An employer can ask for a listing to be removed at hello@hiringindex.org. We action removals within two business days and stop re-collecting that source.
