with_posted_at | Postings that carry a publication date from the employer. This is the denominator for every age column. |
median_days_live | Median days between the employer publication date and the measurement date. |
pct_last_7_days | Share published in the last seven days. |
pct_over_60_days | Share still live more than sixty days after publication. |
with_salary | Postings that publish a pay range. |
long_lived_dates_suspect | Marks rows where the median is above 730 days. Those dates come from the vendor, and we do not trust them. |
Limits
What the numbers do not say
- Age columns rest on
with_posted_at, not onpostings. About six postings in ten carry a publication date. - Greenhouse and Personio publish no city, so a city row counts the eight sources that do. Compare cities with each other, not with a national total.
- Salary coverage is thin and concentrated in three sources. Do not compute a market salary from these counts.
- A long-lived posting is not a ghost job. Intent is not observable from outside a company.
- Counts are of postings, not of vacancies. One employer advertising three seats in one listing counts once.

Hiring Index, hiringindex.org, measured 2026-09-08.The same index answers queries live through the API. If you need a cut that is not in these files, ask on the listing and we will publish it.
